Colour yourself

Colours add spice to our life. Colours depict your mood. Colours even tell a little something about yourself. So what does this colour mean to you. Is it the culmination of all colours and hence the king of them all? Or is it the absence of everything ,a mere void? A symbol of nothingness.What does it mean to YOU????? This colour.

.. answering your question right away…. black always symbolizes a secret.. it’s a dark object waiting to be explored. It’s the king of all colors.. its something u got to dig and dig deep to explore.. it’s a mystery waiting to be solved.. the color challenges you to find the secrets within and it always ends up having the last word… it’s a color which makes u think “ was there ever a light at the end of the tunnel” who the hell came up with that phrase btw.. sometimes there can never be and all u can have is darkness “BLACK”. Black is a force waiting to challenge your every sense.. it’s a force which makes a human behave like a bat where we got to rely on every sense but our eyes… it can symbolize death but that again is the perception.. why do mourners wear black?.. why do a few refrain themselves from buying anything that’s black because it’s a symbol of bad luck??.. Well not for me.. to me black is the be all end all of all colors…

contrast….innocence….beginning…end.
Wow….Could write so much about it….and so much to think about. As u said it is culmination of all….or a void….depending on mood.
Reminds me of Snape’s Black dress….Bansali’s masterpiece movie…abyss…..stars shining against black sky….SRKs sherwani in some stupid movie….crescent on a black background….amavaasai….child afraid of darkness….

Black doesnt signify lack of everythin.. the truth is black is presnce of everythin..science identifies an object is black if it cannot reflect any light energy …a balck body absorbs all energy.. so black according to me is a symbol of energy warehouse.. .a store house for energy.. black is the orginal color of universe ..all the light.. white and brighness result from the objects in it … so balck is a symbol of orginality and icon of the cosmos!
Black symbolises serenity and beauty of silence… imagine sittin in dark room ..when u r stressed and really worried… u can feel the silence envelopin u… thta is the power of black.. down the line in history .. the significance and meanings of colors have been distorted… for eg. REd symbolised revelution and red flag indicated ppl to act …so it was initally very diificult for ppl to stop on red traffic lights… so is the case with the color black…
watever it is.. black continues to be one of fav colors.. black tops and blue jeans look really good on “some” gals

to me the colour black does not have a negative connotation like death, misery etc as it is assumed to have…
Although i would say that the culmination of all colors is white…since it is from a ray of white light that we get a rainbow(spectrum of colors)…
Black to me is the opposite of white…it is emptiness in itself.As they say cold is the absence of heat…BLACK IS THE ABSENCE OF WHITE!

Black is a color which symbolizes a person’s attitude , his level of confidence and most importantly of something sight unseen ..It s generally said that a person who likes black must ve very positive thinking , shoot d bull nature n by and large s fun to b wid..
I believe black s wrongly interpreted as a color which s like a shot full of holes..I definitely disagree wid all dis ancient concepts n beliefs abt it..let us consider a low-end car(not of sedan type) , even fr tat, black color in a big way adds sheer majesty n makes it look like a sight fr sore eyes..wanna add more on dis but lemme shrink it fr time bein:-)
Its amazin to c dat each post of urs s as different as it can be in terms of d way ur ideas r put forth n presented collectively..

for me that is more than a color. that is completion. that is entireity (check spelling) because each color is not just a representation of mood or attitude. it is meant to be a part of life. linking the color to tings is perception it is not color. it is figament of imagination and not imagination.

Black is one of my favorite colors and I possess many things in black including my car.
What does it mean to me? To me,most of the times, it means dignity and neutrality. At other times, it symbolises infinity, unsurpassed and unlimited energy (like in Black Hole) and most important of all Divinity.

(i havent read everyone else’s comments, so there is bound to be repetition!)
some of the people who wear black..
1) People going to a funeral.. because it is an accepted notion that black doesn’t signify any happy emotions!![i] (when i asked my brother, if i can wear a black and black dress for his wedding reception, he said “dude, its a wedding,not a funeral!!”)[/i]
2) People going to sabarimalai , kerala.. dont know the reason exactly, but , i guess its because they have givenup a lot of wordly pleasures and black again signifies that!! [i]( A electrical prof. in undergrad asked me whether i was going to sabarimalai when i wore a black and black outfit to college!!!… he was 65+ years old)[/i]
3) People going to parties.. because , because mostly its is the dresscode in most of the happening pubs and discs and black is also considered the universal party colour.. well one of the reasons could be this, which i read in a fashion magazine..
[i]you tend to look slimmer in black than in anyother coloured outfit.. it hides the little extra fat in your body and makes u look thinner..[/i] which is absolutely true, as by my pesonal experience..
I guess the common thing about all the three kind of people mentioned is they wanna hide something…
Its one of my favourite colours,(half my wardrobe is filled with black outfits).. but i guess its something which hides emotions.. it probably signifies a mask, which covers anything.. and does it sucessfully!

well … sooo getting back 2 ur query.. its jus d perception of d individual. For a kid…. darkness s threatening …. and @ d same time for a blind kid …darkness s jus there lying throughout his path n he HAS to enjoy that to come up n life. So its jus within d mind, auspicious,unlucky,formal wear or jus watever. The COLOR as such,4 me, s my favouriteee, d color BLACK jus doesnt switch off my mood … jus wont clearly depict d mood, as it s said throughout d comments section,mourners wear it n @ d same time ppl also wear it durin the parties,two totally different moods,rite,so its jus d practice tat s getting followed n nothing else…n 4 me,,,from my bike a lot of things that i own is black, though mai mom s always against it

jus read a couple of lines in ur comment. Well, to answer regarding d sabarimalai outfit, the thing s tat ppl generally visit the temple during the winter, and it wud be really cold n d mountain.
1. So tat was d main reason ppl wear black so that it wud absorb a lot of heat and keep them warm.
2. some myths r also there tat the animals n d forest generally dont hurt ppl wen they are n black … hope u got d reason behind d black outfit

balck is a colour of nothingness….something void n null…not existing…..though its attractive the first thing that comes to ur mind is colour of mourning….so in my opinion its a colour of nothingness….

Colors to me are a reflection of my mood. Yeah true maybe linking the color to our moods might be perception but at the end of the day everything is perception. There exists something ,but what we make out of it is our perception.
We have here 18 different perceptions of one color.And we see diametrically opposite perceptions too. It ranges from the color of the moaning to the color of celebration to the color of majesty.
Black to me is HOPE. It symbolizes the infinte possibilities ahead of us. Its intriguing. The color tells me that there is so much more to look out for.The color tells me that there is nothing like THE END.To me its optimism.To me its never ending life.Its immortal.
